DAY-16: At Sea - Making Ready for the Estonia & Russia Excursions

Day - 16: Thursday, June 11, 2015

Starting Location: At Sea En-route to Tallinn, Estonia
Ending Location: At Sea En-route to Tallinn, Estonia

For us a day at sea is a respite from the storm and a day to catch-up on sleep, laundry, blogs, photo filing, etc. with the last two dependent on reasonable Internet service. That being said there are a thousand or so other passengers probably thinking the same thing so that "information pipeline" flowing all of the ship's Internet traffic can easily become bogged down.

Our excitement for the day came down to a cooking demo. Again the demo is nice but the comedic entertainment value is a great reason to attend the performances.

Lesson Learned: No cooking before drinking!

Sunset was very late, almost 11 PM and still vestiges of light showing even at midnight. Just to confirm, the sunsets in the Baltic sea are nice but no better than at Kitty Hawk or St. Pete Beach. The glass of wine can be a great equalizer.

For the "old Salts" out there:
1. Can you name the device?
2. Do ships really still need this device?
3. Did you ever do the annual PM on this device?
4. If yes to annual PM, did you actually know what you were doing or did you just "wing" it?
